September again, and Hawkeye is home from deployment

Wow.  I haven't posted for two years.  I guess I better come back at some point.  And I will!

Hawkeye is back home, eight years young, and still going strong.  He was deployed for two years to Williams Kanine Security, after he showed that he really needed a job.  When Williams retired, Hawkeye came back home.

Hawkeye is safe and healthy, his ears a little worse for wear, but not infected.  His Pannus is well under control, and was taken care of while he was deployed.  He is a happy boy, and a great guardian of my large fenced yard.  He enjoys rambles in the outback with my Heelers.

Watching the horse corral and perimeter fence.

The X-Files and Jesus

I'm watching the old X-Files series tonight.  Food for thought.  A strong belief in Jesus and the Bible helps me to understand that there are things in the world/the universe that we do not yet understand.  Jesus indicated that all things will become known.  I love and trust Him with all my heart; He gives me the power to live my life daily, and through the Holy Spirit, imbues me with power from on high when it is needed.  Praise to God on high!

Skipper, the "Failed Foster"

OK, so much for trying to "foster" this little guy.  He immediately stole my heart, and he is now mine!  Skipper was abandoned in someone's back yard when they were evicted.  The landlord contacted a local rescue in Tucson, who contacted Arizona Cattle Dog Rescue.  As a foster home volunteer for ACDR, I went and picked him up, and he is now my latest addition, since I officially adopted him.  Yay!  He is so much fun, and my constant companion!  [along with my other 6 dogs...  :-)]  Skipper is always upbeat and fun, and he makes me laugh, and we adore each other.  This is one of those bonds with a dog that is so rare; and I have been fortunate to experience it several times in my lifetime.  Amazing!  We are so in tune!  He is featured in my first novel, that I don't know if I will ever publish, but am having a fun time writing anyway!

Skipper the cow dog

Here is my current foster dog from Arizona Cattle Dog Rescue.  ACDR is dedicated to rehabilitating and finding forever homes for Australian Cattle Dogs.  Skipper is a very fun puppy!  Approximately 10 months old, he is perfectly house trained -- has never made a mess in the house!  He loves to play fetch and knows how to sit and stay.  He is crate trained.  He walks beautifully on a loose leash.  Skipper loves Nylabones and kongs, but is getting bored with only playing with toys on these hot summer days.

I'll be so happy when the weather gets a bit cooler and I can walk dogs more, and maybe even train Skipper to go along with the horse!
